I first became involved in the technical management of live events in 2008, and quickly began managing various technical elements of high-profile shows all over the world due to my technical expertise and client centric method of operating. To complement my technical knowledge, I work tirelessly to improve and implement better operations, management, organization, and communications, both within my companies and externally with my clientele.
Though I wear many hats, my primary role as a technical producer afforded me opportunities to shape and implement some of the most complex events in the country alongside the best producers in the industry. I learned from them, and pushed myself to become an expert in everything that enabled them to find solutions to new and diverse challenges.
As I gained exposure, I quickly discovered the disorganization and dysfunction routinely affecting technical planning and implementation. I dedicated myself to increasing quality and value for my customers by creating proprietary systems, air-tight planning and communications frameworks, and employing a roster of industry leaders to ensure the highest quality execution.

For more than a decade I’ve helped my clients tackle these tasks in a systematic, hassle-free way that leaves everyone feeling confident when the event day finally arrives. SUMMIT: AN IDEAS FESTIVAL
Summit is a multi-day event that takes place in unusual locations such as cruise ships, mountaintops, and city-wide takeovers.
As Technical Director, I translate the client’s vision to vendors to make the dream a reality by managing production staff and A-list talent, as well as creating customized spaces using highly technical production elements.
Optavia, a direct sales health coaching company, hosts large scale events for 5-15k staff to showcase services and foster strong culture and morale.
I use high tech production elements for top entertainment such as advanced rigging for acrobatic performances. My role also includes program design, production design, and show calling.
PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURAL BALLS: 2013
Events: The 2013 Inaugural Ball, Commander In Chief's Ball, PIC Staff Ball, Children’s Ball, Candlelight Reception
Artists included: Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Brad Paisley, Alicia Keys, Fun., Katy Perry, Soundgarden, etc.
I managed the technical elements for all official Inaugural Balls, city-wide celebratory events hosted by Barack Obama, the then incoming President on the eve of his inauguration. All five official events required complex technical needs as combined, they were multi-day, multi-venue, and concurrent, and included very high profile guests and talent.
I produced all working dinner events for the 2012 NATO Summit, a recurring meeting of world leaders. These five simultaneous events around Chicago involved highly technical requirements such as simultaneous language interpretation, lighting and sound reinforcement, and acoustically isolated rooms for privacy and security purposes. I worked with the highest profile talent such as Heads of State and also acted as liaison between the United States Secret Service and General Contractor.
US HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
As the largest Hispanic business organization in the U.S., the USHCC hosts large scale events multiple times a year bringing together business leaders in the Hispanic community.
As Technical Director for their national conventions and some of their side events, I designed the needed technical elements, directed their shows, and delivered a high profile, highly technical event within the organization’s budget.
COSTA PALMAS - CABO
The Costa Palmas event was a private party at a high-end, exclusive resort, still in the middle of the construction process. There were high profile guests and performers, including Tiesto and Kaskade. I designed, managed and implemented all technical assets, including building the infrastructure needed to produce the event on an isolated beach away from any support of the main building(s), which were still under construction.
This event required full customization and expert management of artist and customer needs to make all parties happy with the final outcome given the restrictions of the unique setting.
LuLaRoe is a direct sales clothing company that hires independent consultants to sell their products. To bring consultants together and announce new products, the company hosts large scale conventions utilizing high tech production elements to create unique and glamorous experiences for their attendees.
I managed the technical elements for multiple 15,000 person events, including program design, production design, and show calling.
DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION
The Democratic National Convention was originally planned to be an 80,000 person event at the Bank of America stadium, an open air venue. I designed and produced the surrounding venue that stretched 30 blocks around the stadium for guests on their way into the event, focused around their necessary wait to get through security and enter. This included managing all production and logistical elements from stage management, water/restroom logistics, audio, and light towers.
For this event, I also acted as the United States Secret Service liaison for ~3,000 contractors, operating on behalf of the General Contractor. Unfortunately, rain changed everyone's plans at the last minute, cancelling the plans in the open air stadium, but that didn't change the months of work to be ready for the day of the event.
